Sped/Life Skills Director

Carol MacLeod

I have been with Brookeland ISD for 14 years.  I have a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a BA in Early Childhood through 8th grade generalist. I have worked with inclusion and resource over the years but now I am blessed to head up the Life Skills program.

I had past experience with Student Council and this year concludes my time as the National Honor Society Advisor. These organizations have been an exciting whirlwind of activities for the school and community.

I have coached UIL Spelling for all grade levels over the years, this year I passed the torch. I dabbled in UIL Number Sense for a couple of years.

Some young women that I had the pleasure of working with a few years ago implemented a free summer tutorial program that I was the supervisor/coordinator for. The same young women also went on to design and create a free online tutoring service, Global Guru, in which I am a board member.

Sped/Life Skills Assistant

Denise McKinley

I am a mother of two boys and a grandmother of 5. I have worked with Life Skills at Brookeland ISD since 2012. I have also monitored ASD for many years that I have been at Brookeland.

I love the children we get the opportunity to work with. I love seeing them grow and accomplish goals that they have worked so hard for. Our children in Life Skills find new ways of thinking and problem solving. As Life Skills teachers we want to help the children recognize the impact of their actions and help them build confidence in speaking skills and in groups.

Sped/Life Skills Assistant

Brittani Parker

Hello, parents and friends! My name is Brittani Parker and I am so ecstatic to be apart of your child's journey at Brookeland ISD.

I graduated from Brookeland in 2012 and have always loved our school's environment. Being able to come back and join the Brookeland staff as a Life Skills aide while I complete my Bachelors of Art in Elementary Education has been such a joy for me!

I look forward to learning about your child and working to help bring out the brightest parts of them. Their education and confidence are key factors for us in the classroom daily.
To better my knowledge of your child please, feel free to email me and share information that will help make their journey successful!

Go Wildcats!
