Below is the 2023-2024 candidate packet as well as the district bylaws that are approved in the BISD Handbook and NHS National Chapters. New bylaws will be presented to the Faculty Council, Administration, School Board, and the National Chapter Fall 2023 after member selection processes.

Selection process is established by the National Standards of NHS. It begins with academics being assessed. After academic standards of 90%, established by our local chapter, are met the student is assessed on character, leadership, and service. These criteria are assessed using confidential teacher evaluations, candidate packets, as well as recommendations submitted to the Faculty Council, assigned by district administration. The advisor will sit in on the Faculty Council for their final decisions being presented to the advisor, but the advisor will have no input on the selection process, including teacher recommendations. You will also find the rubric that the selection committee uses. All evaluations and rubrics are confidential to the committee.
